About Grey Thumb Boston Meetings

Meetings are held on the first (non-holiday) Monday of every month. Please check the page for the upcoming meeting for venue information. Official meeting announcements are also made on the Grey Thumb Mailing List. Subscribe to the list for the latest updates on Grey Thumb meetings.

The usual meeting format is a brief introductory period followed by a presentation lasting between 1/2 hour and one hour. After the presentation, questions may be asked of the presenter and people are free to socialize. Food and drinks may be ordered both during and after the presentation.

Grey Thumb is inspired by the Homebrew Computer Club and by Make magazine, but is geared mostly toward artificial life, agent based simulation, and evolutionary computation. Our goal is to bring together people from diverse backgrounds to help create a nucleus of interest in these subjects in the Boston area.

Additional smaller scale gatherings such as impromptu meetings and "hacking sessions" may be held from time to time. Subscribe to the mailing list to be kept up to date on any additional activities.
